UG Drama class went on fieldwork yesterday to Gary Wellbrock’s class, a teacher from PS 347, the ASL and English lower school. All of the amazing artists that have been visiting our class have also been meeting with his students. It was time for our students to finally meet each other in person. BCS students read “A Lion King” to the class which was Sign Language Interpreted. We ended the visit with all of the students together learning how to sign Circle of Life from “A Lion King”
This program is a part of Gary Wellbrock and Kori Rushton’s Broadway Books Upper Class. This Literacy and Arts Program taps into the rich cultural offerings of NYC. Our students will use this interview as the foundation for a newly devised play that they will present to a live audience.
A great opportunity also was available to BCS parents with the support of our Parent Coordinator Tracey Pinkard. It was a FREE Introductory Viewpoints based workshop for Deaf and hearing artists.
