Over the next two weeks, all 6th graders will be participating in a kindness circle facilitated by the 6th grade school counselor, Todd, and supported by 6th crew crew leaders and academic teachers.
This is a proactive circle designed to help students learn to be upstanders in our community.
This circle, named the #COOL2BKIND circle, is a community building circle where 6th grade students learn about the idea of self-concept. The students explore the voices of other students across the nation who have been bullied and marginalized and how those stories resonate with their own. Students leave the circle with a general understanding of self-concept and start to build up their social skills “tool-belt” by learning how they can disrupt bullying and identify ways to be kind.
