NYCPS – “fever-free for 24 hours” rule
- Stay healthy, BCS!!! Students/families, please note NYCPS policy that students must stay home with a fever (100°F/38°C or higher) and must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine before returning to school, with improving symptoms like no vomiting/diarrhea, to prevent spreading contagious illnesses like flu, COVID, or RSV. This “fever-free for 24 hours” rule, plus general improvement, is the standard guideline from health experts and school districts for safe return.
