Zipper Trend – FYI to parents

  • There is a recent TikTok fad involving bookbag zippers where students trade them or take them from each other – they come in different colors.  The zippers are easy to remove from certain bookbags and have caused arguments and distractions from some students – once the zipper is removed from a bookbag, it is impossible to identify the origin of the zipper since they all look the same and there are many floating around.
  • Please look at your child’s bookbag to see if they are participating in this trend and discuss with them about the distractions they are posing to the learning community.  Thank you for your support.

Middle Shool Girls Volleyball Team Tryouts

Weekly academic team leader emails to families

  • The first source of parent information is the weekly email from your child’s academic team leader with information about school assignments from each class
  • If you get our emails, you are already on our listserve.  Please check your spam folder to see if we might be accidentally going there if you haven’t received emails.
  • If you want to add additional parent/guardians to our email group, subscribe to our listserve by completing this form.

Email L2@bcs448.org to reach Scill and Imani so we don’t duplicate emails

  • Instead of emailing us individually, it helps to send email to L2@bcs448.org
  • In general, a parent’s first point of contact is the crew leader (not Scill and Imani)
  • Please wait 1-2 days for a reply from any BCS staff member

Soft Lockdown Drills – Notification to Families

  • We practice a variety of safety drills including soft lockdowns and evacuation drills, in accordance with NYC Public Schools safety guidelines.
  • We have scheduled two soft lockdown drills for the fall – teachers will go over proper procedures with students in class
