We had a great start to the 2020-2021 school year! We began in Crews on our schoolwide expedition. Our expedition for the first two weeks of school revolves around the Essential Question: What does it mean to belong? – The expedition focuses on the importance of being part of a community AND how to use essential tech tools/platforms to be successful this year. Crews were looking beautiful as they engaged in community building, social emotional learning, and immersion in our digital tools!
On the first day of school 9/16, we had Crew in the morning and then Academic Town Hall for all students in the afternoon.
On the second day of school 9/17, we had Crew in the morning and then Crew Town Hall for all students in the afternoon.
On the third day of school 9/18, we had Crew in the morning and then a Crew circle in the afternoon.
All week, staff have been getting together to plan to ensure that our students have the best learning experience!
We’ve also been loaning out tech devices so that all students are set up for success.
At the end of the first day, we had our traditional BCS staff toast on the “virtual rooftop” – the BCS staff have toasted our first day of school every year since our inauguration in 2001!
