Middle School Sports Club during Tues Afterschool
- We will have a middle school sports club on Tuesdays afterschool in the BCS gym. Students will be able to come and engage in fun sports activities.
- If interested please stop by the PE office to obtain a parental permission slip.
- Tuesdays (starting May 6th) – 3:05pm to 4:15pm
Educator Appreciation Week is coming up (May 5-9, 2025)!!
- Please fill out this form to shout out a BCS staff member. Students and families can shout out as many people as you’d like!!! We’ll share all the shout outs with staff and we’ll select a few to showcase on our Instagram!

Parent Outreach to Teachers
- Thurs May 15 is parent-outreach evening where teachers will reach out to families if we have academic or behavior concerns – feel free to always reach out to teachers about your child’s progress via email or Jumprope
- Fri May 16 is a full day of school (not half day)
All students – Tuesday Tiers
- All students are welcome to stay afterschool on Tues every week until 4pm to get extra help and work time with any of their teachers
- Please check Jumprope regularly for your progress
Middle School Tests Up Ahead
- Tues 5/6 – Wed 5/7 – Grade 6 Math NYS State Test
- Thurs 5/8 – Fri 5/9 – Grade 7 Math NYS State Test
- Tues 6/10 – Biology Regents for Grade 8 only
- Wed 6/18 – Algebra Regents for Grade 8 only
- Parents, if you would like to opt your child out of the state exams, please notify our team at testing@bcs448.org or by completing the parent opt-out form from middle school state tests here
NYCPS – Family Update Letter
- Here is the May 2025 NYCPS Family Update Letter (available in all languages). The letter features important information for families regarding Summer Rising, voting in the 2025 Education Council elections, key admissions dates, Teacher Appreciation Week, Climate Action Day, and parent-teacher conferences.
NYCPS -Voting for the 2025 Education Council Elections is now open!
- You can cast your vote for the candidates you’d like to see on your local and citywide education councils for the upcoming term.
- To cast your vote, you will need to sign into your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA). If you do not already have an account but still want to vote, it’s not too late: you can sign up for your NYC Schools Account today! If you need help signing up for NYCSA or linking your children to the account, please email your school’s principal or parent coordinator to get a code.
- Voting in these elections is an opportunity for parents like your to directly impact your school community and your child’s education. To learn more about who is running for seats on your district and citywide councils, please review the candidate profiles.
- Voting is open from April 25 until Tuesday, May 13, but don’t wait: sign in to NYCSA and make your voice heard today!
