4/14 – BCS Student/Family Update

Dear BCS Team, we hope you are well!


MS Basketball Club

  • Middle school basketball club will begin on Monday 4/15/24.  It will run from 3:15pm to 4:30pm every Monday in the Month of May and until the second Monday in June.
  • Basketball club is coed and for all to join if interested.  Please stop by the PE office to pick up a permission slip from Coach Brandi.

BNS/BCS Parent Action Committee (PAC)

  • Are you interested in getting involved in parent efforts to support the unique teaching and learning that happen at BNS and BCS? Join the BNS/BCS Parent Action Committee! No specific knowledge or expertise is required – the PAC is a space where we, as parents, will educate ourselves about issues and work together to inform others and take action as needed. Curious about how BNS and BCS are able to be so different than other local schools and want to make sure they can continue to be? Come learn and be part of this work with us!

Yearbook Ads for Grades 8 and 12 – purchase by Fri April 19

  • We are excited to celebrate 12th graders and 8th graders in the 2024 yearbook! 
  • You can now purchase ads in the yearbook. It’s $100 for a full page, $50 for half a page, $25 for a quarter, and $15 for a business card. You can purchase an ad at
  • After purchasing the ad, email pics and text to so the yearbook staff can design the page, or you can design a PDF/JPG and send that to us. The deadline to buy ads is Friday, April 19. See this flyer for more information.

Donate to our PTA – we need your donation – please give generously!

  • Our PTA Annual Appeal is about $17,000 below our goal of $38,000 for the year. There are so many ways to make it to the goal (e.g., $55 per student, $137 per student not receiving free or reduced lunch). Any contribution you provide allows our PTA to continue to help the school cover the costs of:
    • Expeditionary Thursdays
    • camping
    • office and classroom supplies
    • award ceremonies and team dinners
    • internships
    • teacher appreciation lunches
    • student dance parties
    • senior gifts
    • outside speakers
    • professional development
    • camping trips
    • and much more

  • Our US History students are in heavy PBAT season and require a lot of paper for their drafting conferences.  They have written a Donors Choose to get more paper.
