We had a busy week after February break!
2/25 – Check out Melissa’s beautiful bulletin board about Frida Kahlo, with work from her Spanish Native Heritage Class.
2/28 – Lower Grades went on their first spring Expeditionary Thursday. Everyone had a great learning experience! Check out our longer post here: https://www.smore.com/vb0dt
2/28 – Shout out to BCS students Elijah (Grade 7) and Benji (Grade 6). They did BCS proud, speaking to the Panel for Education Policy and Chancellor Carranza last night. They stood at the mic and demanded that the DOE recognize how mistaken NYSED is to place our school or any school on a list of failing schools using data from flawed tests. They called out the anti-racist policies and changes that the NYC DOE and beyond should be making. They spoke proudly and eloquently to request equity and justice for our school and all schools. Well done, Benji and Elijah!
3/1 – Seniors Deivy and David with William Zero, founder of GigKloud. William hosted our students at BMCC’s Panther Tank, a business incubator on campus. William will visit BCS in May.
Other Notes:
Love the high quality work reflecting Grade 7’s recent ELA PBATs based on the book Monster.
NYC Outward Bound posted about our recent 11th grade Town Hall Debate in US History.
