A very busy week to finish out February!
2/24 – Professor Harhie Hahn, leader of John Hopkins Agora Democracy Institute, joined the senior economics class on Monday to share her views on mass budgeting and democracy.
2/26 – Photographer Emily Chan joined the internship seminar on Wednesday to share her marriage and proposals portfolio plus her small business experiences.
2/26 – Williamsburg Podcaster, Rosangel Perez, visited Stephen & Tamika’s Economics class on Wednesday to share her wit and wisdom about gentrification and NYC housing politics.
Our Lower Grades students continue to love the library, borrowing a ton!! We can’t wait to see what the readership/circulation is this year!
We are starting our Grade Robotics with Grade 7 students, to read a story and program the robot to act out the story and then share with BNS classrooms.
2/27 – Upper Grades students enjoyed their first spring ET. Stay tuned for our longer post.
2/27 – Grade 6 students shared their autobiographies with each other.
2/28 – PE students worked on different fitness activities, including creating their own push-ups.
2/28 – Grade 6 students shared their Thermal Energy comics and gave each other feedback.
2/28 – Poet Sahar Muradi joined Stephen’s crew, featuring senior guests, on
Friday to share her poetry in English and Farsi.
2/29 – A Debate Team weekend! Saturday was a long day, with our two veteran teams making it into elimination rounds. The resolution (“The United States should replace means-tested welfare with a universal basic income”) was a tough one but everyone persisted, had fun & learned a lot. Here are the results:
