Last month’s Family Book Club was a success – the book was Born A Crime by Trevor Noah. This month’s Family Bool Club is at the end of February – please join us in reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz!
Great news about our Gala fundraiser last week – seems like we cleared our $10,000 goal!!! WOW! Incredible thanks to our amazing PTA!
2/13 – As part of our Respect for All activities, we premiered “The Unstoppable” written by Julianna Greenidge (BCS Class of 2017). The actors, including Juli, spoke with seniors, along with mental health experts. We are crew!
2/13 – Wacky Tacky Spirit Day
2/14 – Our 11th graders had their annual Mock Town Hall on whether a memorial to Nat Turner should be built in Carroll Park – we hosted many guest judges!
2/15 – We celebrated No One Eats Alone Day with an extravaganza during lunch! Staff and students played games and enjoyed each other’s company. Special thanks to Student Leader Maryrory and Staff Coordinator Tanisha!
2/14 – 7th graders presented their roundtables on Walter Dean Myers’ book Monster, reflecting upon racism in our justice system.
2/15 – Student Council Committees are slowly making headway on their individual projects, including Community Building and School Beautification. Yay for student leadership!
