10/14 – Tony Award winner Gregory Jbara visits Brooklyn Collaborative!

Tony Award winner Gregory Jbara visited our Upper Grades drama class today to share personal stories about himself and his life in professional theater. This program is a part of Gary Wellbrock and Kori Rushton’s Broadway Books Upper Class.  This Literacy and Arts Program taps into the rich cultural offerings of NYC. Our students will use this interview as the foundation for a newly devised play that they will present to a live audience.

Kori Rushton has been the Drama teacher at Brooklyn Collaborative for nearly a decade.  Gary Wellbrock, a teacher from PS 347, a Deaf school in NYC, also attended our event (and shared about his experience on his blog: http://followingyourbliss.blogspot.com/2016/10/broadway-books-upper-class-with-gregory.html?spref=fb).  Gregory Jbara will also be visiting Mr. Wellbrock’s class at PS 347 to talk with his students.
