11/1 – US History classes were learning and practicing how meditation could help colonized people form new thoughts and new neural networks.  The students went upstairs to the roof and burned white sage as a cleanser, and then students burned negative habits they wanted to release, and committed to positive affirmations. This is part of our decolonization unit for American Indians.

Our YWCA Afterschool continues to host fun events for participants.  We visited the Miccio Community Center located in Red Hook for their annual Haunted House! Over 15 of our after-school participants enjoyed the haunted house and the large game room at the center. We look forward to going again next year.
