Class of 2020 is College Bound & Future Ready!

Dear Brooklyn Collaborative Community,

The Class of 2020 is College Bound & Future Ready!

Over ninety percent of our seniors are currently in transition from BCS as they pursue college and career goals in a myriad of post secondary paths including medical, education, law, sports and military service.

While the year has been fraught with challenges the Class of 2020 has persevered. They demonstrated many of our core values with “Courage” and “Persistence” as the bedrock for their success. They applied to more than 180 institutions and submitted over 800 college applications.  In support of their future plans, Crew Leader Advisors & upper grade teachers wrote more than 160 letters of recommendation and The College Office processed over 900 electronic documents. Seniors were admitted to and are now poised to attend an impressive list of institutions.  Just to name a few:

The City University of New York:    Baruch, Brooklyn and Hunter
The State University of New York:  Albany, Purchase and Oswego
Private Colleges:                              Allegany, Ithaca, and Skidmore

Crew to College continues to represent Brooklyn Collaborative’s ongoing commitment to relevant post secondary planning providing a comprehensive curriculum and resources in continued partnership with:  CARA | College Inquiry;  NYC Outward Bound Schools | To & Through College;  New York Cares FAFSA completion workshop. We continue to strengthen our program fostering new relationships with St.Francis College Instant Decision Day and ROAM.NYC Virtual Admissions Workshops, providing the Class of 2021 with remote college and career advisement opportunities in response to the pandemic.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable summer.
My very best,
Karlette
