BCS YWCA Afterschool Programming – Fun and Educational!

As we begin the second semester of school, the BCS YWCA After School program continues to work on fun projects and activities that build skills, encourage creativity and critical thinking. This week, the Theater class explored A Raisin in the Sun, while the cooking class explored the effects of leavening agents in baked goods. Art class drew illustrations of animals and the martial arts class worked on grappling. Students in the Engineering class are constructing model homes to further their understanding of insulation concepts, and the Youth Development classes had meaningful discussions about peer pressure. Students in the Spanish club performed for the rest of the after school students and the Art& Fashion club made their own pillows. Take a look at the pillow making project from start to finish!
