Fri 3/21 – SAT/PSAT School Day for Grades 10/11

  • Every year we have SAT School Day where 10th and 11th graders take the PSAT or SAT exam during school – this year, it will be on Fri 3/21.
  • The SAT is one important component of the college admissions process and you have to put in the study time to improve your score!  Did you know that a combined SAT score of greater than 1100 is considered a college-ready threshold?  We advise that all students study 30 minutes a day with Khan Academy to practice for the SAT and PSAT, that you attend our Afterschool SAT Class on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Henry and Allison, and that you take a practice SAT test online.
  • You can do this!  Aim for a SAT score of over 1000 and study every day!

  • Cash prizes will be awarded. In addition, the winners will have their artwork featured on the Office for Justice Initiatives’ Law Day website until Law Day 2026. All contestants will receive a pocket United States Constitution and a certificate of participation.
  • All submissions must be received by February 25, 2025. The state-wide prize winners will be announced on May 1, 2025. This year, many more children will be recognized for their vision and creative talents as there will be two rounds to the contest. First place winners will be identified within each judicial district and advanced to the statewide contest. The first, second and third prize winners will be selected from the second round and awarded monetary prizes courtesy of the Historical Society of the New York Courts.
