9/16-20 – Highlights of the Week!

What a busy week we had at Brooklyn Collaborative.  Check it out!

Congratulations to boys varsity soccer for securing their home opener vs. Adams Street Academy!  They defeated Adams Street with a score of 3-1.  Augustin Tapia had 5 shots on goal with 2 goals scored and Jose Alvarado had on shot on goal, scoring the 3rd goal. Shout out to Aldo Merino for 4 saves on goals.  GO BCS WOLVES!


9/16 – Alg 2 students collected data to measure the rebound ratio of rubber balls.


9/16 – Architectural Drafting students sketched in the neighborhood with the theme of “I Spy…”


9/19 – Grade 6 students enjoyed a special visit to Photoville NYC Education Day 2019 in Brooklyn Bridge Plaza in DUMBO.  What an incredible day to see the beauty and diversity in a wide cross section of the world’s photographic community!


9/20 – 7th grade scientists explored different objects to make qualitative and quantitative observations and inferences.


9/20 – Climate Action Everywhere!  Proud of our students and families for their activism at the climate action event in Foley Square!


9/20 – City Planning Department Zero Waste engineer, Jahnvi Shah, joined the senior government class to support in-school students
on the day of the Student Climate Strike.  Shah shared her work on
moving the city to doubling efforts to cut green gas emissions from
office buildings.


Internship students are so proud to be at their sites around the city!


Algebra students worked in groups on qualities of different functions.


ELA 7 students researched and presented different aspects of the Amish culture to launch their dystopian book study of The Giver.


Super Proud of Alicia Torres, our January grad, for persisting with her education!


Tuesday Clubs have started!  Clubs meet monthly (oftentimes more) to give students in all grades different enrichment experiences.  Students experienced knitting, piano, chess, manga, anime, newspaper, crafting, debate, Robotics, and more more more!  Club Blurbs
