7th graders dig into Geology

The final 7th grade ET of the year supported the student’s Geology case study,“How has the earth changed over time?”  Students rotated through three different “station classrooms” over the course of the day.

In one station students explored the San Andreas Fault to identify what is scientifically true and false in regards to how earthquakes are caused and the affect they have on the planet. In the second station students watched the documentary “Earth: The making of a planet.” In the third station students used their prior knowledge of the earth’s structure to create a topography of their own land mass (mountains, hills etc.)
