6/2 – The 20th BCS Model Job Fair is a success!

The Model Job Fair is a true rite of passage for all students at Brooklyn Collaborative.  Over the past 10 years, we’ve had over 900 students working with over 100 businesses, non-profits, schools and universities across our great city. So many of our interns have taken full advantage of their internship experience, parlaying their school year experience to paying jobs in the summer and during senior year.  Many have used the internship experience as a unique credential to get into college.  And several interns have reaped even more from the generosity of their internship sites, including extensive scholarship funding offered to our students by Bryan Cave Law Firm and the Arab-American Family Support Center.  We cannot thank our site supervisors and partners enough, for giving of their time and resources to supporting the growth of young people and partnering with us in public education.  This program is not at all possible without their kindness and responsibility to community, and these are two of our core values which we appreciate them for modeling for our students.

Thank you to our interns for representing Brooklyn Collaborative well this year at their internship sites and for modeling what’s to come for our underclassmen.

We wish to commend our two Directors of Internship, Tanisha and Jesse who come with decades of experience between them – Tanisha as a skilled social worker and Jesse as an expert classroom teacher.  The program is strong because of its leadership, and we couldn’t be more proud that Tanisha and Jesse are on our staff crew.
