Congratulations to Maria Belen Flores (Grade 11, Abbey Crew)! She submitted the winning photo in the citywide New York City Outward Bound Crew photo contest! Her photo will be featured on the NYCOB website and on their social media channels. Her photo will also be framed and displayed at the NYCOB Offices in Long Island City! As the contest winner, she will receive a new Nikon camera valued at $400. She will also be the official “staff photographer” for citywide Crew Olympics at the NYCOB office on May 29th. 3/26 – Our Grades 6 and 9 Crews participated in the Student Prep Day with NYC Outward Bound, gearing up for their 3 day-2 night Crew Orientation camping experiences coming up.
3/26 – Jewelry designer Nancy Leung joined the Grade 12 Economics class to share about her niche of the craft economy.
3/26 – Students in Computer Science presented at an Arcade Game Showcase. Visitors came to play the games that students made and gave them feedback on how they can be the next software engineer extraordinaires!
3/27 – While Grades 10 and 11 had P/SAT testing, Crew 9 and 12 had crew teambuilding trips.
3/29 – Students in BH2 did a BBK (Building Background Knowledge) concept map about how the Modern Revolution has impacted different neighborhoods in NYC.
3/29 – Our 8th graders presented their Evolution of Me roundtables in Science. It was great to hear them reflect on their adolescent development to date, describing how their biological systems evolved over time!
