2/29 – A Debate Team weekend!  Saturday was a long day, with our two veteran teams making it into elimination rounds. The resolution (“The United States should replace means-tested welfare with a universal basic income”) was a tough one but everyone persisted, had fun & learned a lot. Here are the results:

Novice
  • Tovi & Sidney (2-3)
  • Cyrus & Varick (3-2)
Open
  • Benji & Clyde (5-1, made it to octofinals)
  • Eliza & Elijah (5-2, made it to quarterfinals)
The last two tournaments of the year are City Championships (March 14) and State Championships (April 25-26). In addition to the Lakeland teams, Hazel, Nadia, & Isaiah are also qualified. We’re poised to end the year strong!
