BCSAnnualCollegeVisits
Building a College-Bound Culture for Students
Tues 1/31 were our annual college campus visits! All crews in Grades 9, 10, 11 visited a myriad of institutions stretching from Vermont to Washington, DC (see list below), as students explored the learning & social environment of college and walked the landscape of the campuses they visited (rural, suburban, urban). These experiences are important factors as students begin the process of envisioning a Balanced College Application List and making informed decisions about their post-secondary options, which is right around the corner! The day was long with many crews starting out before sunrise in the cold rain! The experience was well worth it – thank you to our students, staff, and parent chaperones! A big thanks to Karlette and Brittany – such visits can only be done with incredible leadership and logistical coordination, and we appreciate you!
Professional Development for Staff
Our campus visits are an excellent opportunity for staff to engage in a professional development opportunity that empowers BCS educators with the necessary knowledge & experience needed to provide relevant & appropriate advisement to our students and families during their post secondary process.
